RE: Faculty Meeting
The Fall/2014 Faculty Association meeting will be held on Thursday, August 28th, following the President’s meeting (around 11:00) in B-110.
As a reminder, our bargaining agreement will expire at the end of this academic year so we will be preparing for negotiations that will start in January. Faculty Association Vice-President Fred Loveland will present an outline of our “revised” approach to offer active involvement for all Faculty Association members with the process.
Mike Lynch, our NYSUT representative, will join us to give updates related to the recent Supreme Court case decisions and those currently under consideration. He will share potential ramifications for the future and what we need to do to safeguard academic freedom as educators.
Lastly, I will provide updates from the summer and review the progress made as a result of our efforts through Labor Management. Clearly there is a great deal of information to share, and I look forward to a great academic year for all of us!
