The documentary film, “Education, Inc.,” will be shown in T-101 on Tuesday, November 17th at 5:00 PM. The Faculty Association will host a panel discussion after the film for everyone to listen and/or participate.
The NYSUT Leadership Institute members, teachers, and parents from our region have been invited to attend and join with our faculty to look at issues facing public education in New York State.
The film is the creation of parent Brian Malone, a filmmaker who has investigated how public education is being harmed by deep-pocketed interests. “Education, Inc.” shows how public education is being attacked, zooming in on the corporate profits by following the money made by privatizing education. The film airs footage from protests, board meetings and allows the voices of frustrated students and parents to be heard.
