To all of the Members of the Faculty Association,
I am very pleased to announce that the Negotiating Team has approved the signing of a tentative agreement with the college for a successor bargaining agreement. The Faculty Association sent the college president the formal notice of its intent to bargain on January 14, 2015 and the tentative agreement was officially signed on June 1, 2016.
Details on this NEW tentative agreement can be found here on the SBFA website. Simply click SBFA Tentative Agreement – Final 2016 to view the document. Please note that the this latest tentative contract also includes a chart indicating Salary Minimums and Hiring Ranges for the three years following the 2012-2015 contract.
It is now the role of the faculty to ratify the contract by the following process:
There will be two meetings scheduled for information/voting in August.
- Tuesday, August 23rd at 1:00 PM. Room TBA
- Wednesday, August 24th at 10:00 AM. Room TBA
All ballots will be counted after the Wednesday meeting and the results sent to the faculty. There will be two voting options available for those unable to attend either meeting…
- Faculty choosing to e-mail their vote can send their response to Joe Spence, FA Secretary.
- If an option to vote with anonymity is desired, print and mail or drop off your ballot to Joe Spence and follow the procedure used in Rep Council elections. Print and sign your name on the outside of the envelope and the ballot will be placed in the ballot box with the rest of the ballots.
All ballots will need to be returned and received no later than 4:00 PM on August 23rd.
Special thanks to the Negotiating team members: Fred Loveland, Meghan McGuiness, Suzanne Shepard, Nate Walz and our chief negotiator Mike Lynch for their steadfast efforts. Enjoy the summer and I look forward to seeing everyone at the August meetings!
Thanks.
